OK, so that is the meaning of [sticky]. Thanks for the clarification.
So how does a member know which is a moderated thread before posting?

Are all of the 'time labels' I see, such as each time of other members' posts, etc., all being converted to my time zone? So I might see a post labeled as having been made at 11 am my time, but someone else will see the same post labeled as having been made at 9 am their time?

Just a question: If I understand correctly, the software running this new Forum is called "Yet Another Forum." The styling of this name would suggest that this is an "open source" program, the kind which would be used in a Linux software envirionment. Is this correct? Don't Tread On Me!

Having the default font set on 5 is waaay too small, and I'm using a very big monitor. Re-setting the font for every post is a pain in the posterior and I forget most of the time. Also, even if I set my own font for 6 or 7, I still have trouble reading others' posts done at 5.
The default front size for every post should be set to at least 6; 7 would be even better. A lot of copper members are older and don't have such good eyesight anymore.

Hey L, did you see this post? I thought you'd comment....

If there is a way to do this already, I have not found it yet. (...Why do I have this creepy feeling that someone is stalking me? ...) lpast wrote:2. Am I correct in concluding that there are only three or four forums currently available? I seem to see that people on this site are "talking" as if the full range of forums area available. If so why am I not seeing them? Try looking at your monitor instead of the ceiling ROTFLMAO!!! Sorry, you were just asking for that one and I just could not resist!!! BTW---I'm trying to recall where I've seen this nice pic before---was it in a banking commercial? Something like "Are you being strangled by high interest rates"???

MLawson wrote:So how does a member know which is a moderated thread before posting? All the threads in a moderated forum are moderated threads. This forum ("The new MyCopper portal" is the only one. Right now, there is no indication that a forum is moderated or not. I'll change the forum name to indicate so.

The timestamps in the blogs are currently not doing this. I'll add it to my list.

Yes, the new forum software is "Yet Another Forum" (yaf for short): http://www.yetanotherforum.net/Yes, it is open source software. Your presumption that open source means linux is incorrect. Open source is a licensing model, not tied to any particular platform. It is writtin in c# for the .net platform - both are from Microsoft and for windows. While there is an open source .net-compatible framework for linux ( http://www.mono-project.com/), I haven't read of anyone running yaf on it. Linux itself is open source software.

The font size in the forum editor is relative to the default specified by the theme. I believe font size 5 is 100% and I know that font size 7 is 140%. I'll see what we might be able to do in the theme to up the default font size.

2 items.
First, the AP news wire is crap. They have too many pop ups and too much garbage on their pages. I want the news, not a bunch of ads. Using dial up it takes a long time to load. Isn't there a better news wire you folks can find?
Secondly, the weather site for my area does not always work. I use the radar alot here and this sites radar stinks. Most of the times, its 20 minutes behind time and alot of the times it does not load or is "TEMPORALLY OUT OF SERVICE". Why not link to Weather.com or intellicast which has much better service.
Other wise, I like the smaller screen size and the general lay out of the page. However, I did not see a link for support.

The Zodiac year begins with Aries on the spring equinox or March 21 - hence the order of the icons at the bottom of the Horoscope accordion panel. Perhaps in the future we can implement a feature to bring up the horoscope for a stored birth date value. The Displayed date will show the last feed data at the time it was cached. The cache is updated frequently but does lag somewhat behind the current feed information. We will look into improving this in the future but keep in mind that we are at the mercy of the data feed. I did notice that if you go to the site that provides this content by clicking on the Horoscope title. You can view horoscope dates other than the current feed date provided. This may be helpful if you want to know what tomorrow’s horoscope is or if our display is not current.

In my PM 'sent items' things have disappeared. Does this happen when the recipient deletes the item?
Is there anyway to archive sent items either before or after sending? I like to keep a record of what I have sent out at least for a while, as I have previously been accused of 'saying' things that I did not say.
If this is the way that PMs work, that is good to know. Then most of the time I'll stick with the regular copper email.
Ya know, some people here in forum get along about like the Hatfields and McCoys!

My messages are being deleted in my inbox and I don't want them deleted. Also, it did not inform via email of a new private message.

Ya know, some people here in forum get along about like the Hatfields and McCoys! No, it's not how PMs are supposed to work. This bug was posted in the forum software's support forum and I believe has been fixed. I need to get the fix and patch it in.

If there was an error sending the email, it might be in the error log. Also, it could have been caught as spam/junk email. Check your online spam folder. If you use an email client instead of webmail, check to see if there's a spam/junk folder and check your rules and filters and whatnot. If you're like me and whitelist (list of those allowed) the email addresses that get past the spam filters, be sure to add support@copper.net to it. I believe that's the email address these notifications are sent from.

I have no idea what that is, probably est. My time is screwed up even though I set it, so I can't make a comparison. I will go back and set my time again soon. I did finally read the message because I had another message and saw it was there.
