Politics: pray don't be angry; pray...pray for the will of God...His plan is beyond us.
Chickens and ducks are still in limbo when it comes to eggs, with the exception of one French duck who will produce her fruit at least every other day. Life is full of surprises waiting for us to capture the moment...lone coyote or band, dogs rushing to the fence throating their authority, ducks and chickens fleeing to the coupe; old man fires a shotgun and all is back to normal as fall slides into Thanksgiving. Wind is picking the leaves from the cottonwood, firewood is being stacked as are the years behind me.
I love all of you...be of good will to each other AMEN

Al the time on that post is not correct, but that does not mean I have never had a beer with breakfast. I am not home at 8 o'clock...go to mass every morning and pick up a friend with poor eye sight; afterward I drop him off and do my town business before retreating to the land of the hillbillies...the time now is 2:35 pm

a few years back while I was still working. had a friend who was disabled. he also lived here in florida.
he found something funny on the internet and wanted to share it with me so he calmly called my cell phone.
on his behalf he did have up his hurricane shutters at that moment. (cannot see out side with them on)
well my phone rang and I asked him did he need help, what was wrong.
he said nothing was wrong he just had a story to tell me.
so I very politely (*^^%$*&^)*()&*%*^R)O*&^_(*^(&^$%^%)&_^)*&%(^()
told him it was 3am.

Day late.....Happy thanksgiving to each and everyone of you; you are all in my prayers. We all have different opinions about everything but we are still a family in a sense, because we join together in this forum format. Give thanks that we have this form of communication; give thanks that some one responds. pray for one another and the nation.

Bad taste, bad taste in my mouth Flag wavin', flag wavin' at a Patriots house Lookin' for change in the couch Mad world, mad world, that's what the TV said Imagine tryna keep your head While your daughter sleeps in bed And when she wakes up, will the world be the same? Will my girl be afraid in the home of the brave? See I hope, I hope, that it's gon' be alright But what a hell of a night
Humanity is a privilege, we can't give in When they build walls, we'll build bridges This is resistance, we're resilient When they spread hate, we shine brilliant March by the millions 'til they hear the children We found ourselves at a distance Open up the jails and the overcrowded cells When we oppress anyone, we oppress ourselves Greatest gift I ever learned is helpin' someone else You feel fully fulfilled 'cause you forget about yourself Service, purpose works if you work it Love everyone regardless of the God they worship This isn't the Apocalypse We can't address the hate until we acknowledge it If Jesus was alive, would he let Mohamed in? This isn't nature, my daughter hugs strangers We teach fear and preach hatred Put up a fence, scared to meet our neighbors Think that if we let them in, they'll take advantage of us later There's so much anger and this world is ours, raise her My daughter, hope it's a dream when I wake up tomorrow

And we fight for the people that haven't had a voice Fight for the first amendment, fight for freedom of choice Fight for women's rights, if she does or doesn't carry We ride for all the Queer folk and fight for all to get married I'm not moving to Canada, not fleeing the nation No time for apathy, no more tears and no complainin' Gotta fight harder for the next four and what we're faced with Got my daughter in my arms and he is not gonna raise her

gojohnson wrote:Friday night I walked and rode the el train and then walked a little more. My destination was the neighborhood Aldi store. I used to walk eight Chicago blocks (one mile) to Aldi but I can’t walk that much anymore.
The temp was 3 degrees with a wind chill (“real feel”} of minus 10 degrees. Not a problem. I know how to layer clothes to stay warm.
There was a guy, an older man, 80ish, outside of Aldi that I assumed was homeless. It’s something I see most days. Currently there are 64,000 homeless people in Chicago. 48 percent of the homeless are children…
As I passed by him he asked for spare change. I kept walking and then he blurted “I’m hungry!” I turned and looked in his eyes and I knew he was telling the truth. And it was so cold that night…
So we’re inside Aldi and I said I can pay for $10 maximum. He selected an 8 pack of iced cinnamon honey buns, an 8 pack of Danish pastries, and an 8 pack of cream filled chocolate cupcakes. All of the items he selected were individually wrapped to stay ‘fresh’ longer. He also got bananas. His total was $11.44.
It was so cold I tried to give him my knit wool beanie hat. He had a scarf wrapped around his ears. He rejected my hat, saying someone would just steal it. Dang, that’s life on the street… bump

In this Christmas season reach out a little more often than you usually do and bring joy to those who are suffering. It doesn't take much; your eyes and your heart will guide you...and it doesn't have to be much of anything. One benefit; your beer will taste so much better.
Merry Christmas!
