Rogue Gunman Shoots Up Springfield, Crashes Car, Kills Four, Including Police Officer
by Cassandra Fairbanks March 16, 2020 58 Comments
18Share 40Tweet Email

A gunman opened fire inside a gas station in Missouri late Sunday evening, killing four people including a police officer.
Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams said in a statement on Monday that another officer and citizen were also injured during the rampage.

Police had been notified that a gunman was driving around and shooting at multiple locations around Springfield before crashing into the Kum & Go. gas station and convenience store. At this point, Williams says that the gunman ran inside and began shooting.
The first two officers who arrived at the scene were shot, Time reports.
When additional officers arrived at the scene they removed the injured officers from the store and found three citizens and the gunman dead. His death appeared to have from been a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Williams.
“Officer Christopher Walsh died at a hospital, Williams said. He was with the Springfield police for 3 1/2 years, was an Army veteran and was active in the Army reserves. Officer Josiah Overton, whose injuries are not life-threatening, has been with Springfield police for two years, he said,” Huffington Post reports.
“Both officers showed significant bravery and were heroic in their actions,” Williams said.
The identities of the victims have not yet been made public as the police are still notifying relatives.
So far, the police have not shared a possible motive for the rampage.

“We’re still investigating multiple crime scenes and dealing with grieving the loss of one of our own,” he said.

Armed disabled woman kills 1 home invader, fends off another, police say

By Johnathan Jones, The Western Journal
Published March 21, 2020 at 4:33pm

Police say a disabled Texas woman shot and killed an intruder and fended off another during an attempted home invasion at her Houston apartment this past week.
Citing investigators, KHOU reported that on March 14, two teens attempted to enter the woman’s northwest Houston apartment through a patio door during a brazen, daylight home invasion.

After shattering the woman’s glass patio door, one of the would-be intruders then reached inside and attempted to unlock a door, police said.
That is when the resident reportedly fired one shot with her firearm -- hitting one of the teens.
The outlet did not disclose the woman’s identity, referring to her as simply a “53-year-old disabled resident.”

She was apparently home alone during the incident.
Harris County deputies arrived at the scene and found an 18-year-old on the ground outside of the residence.
The deputies reported finding the man in the grass.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and has not been identified, KHOU reported.
Two arrests were made following the botched burglary, police said.
Deputies told KHOU that 18-year-old Ayanna Harrison and 17-year-old Aren Lacour, were quickly detained.
Police said Harrison drove the other two teens to the woman’s apartment, and described her vehicle as a getaway car.
"Deputies said the getaway vehicle, a white four-door Mercedes-Benz, is linked to other burglaries in the area," according to KHOU.
Lacour and Harrison are both facing felony murder charges relating to the death of the unidentified teen.
Under Texas law, criminal offenses that result in the death of another person, regardless of the circumstances, can result in murder charges.
This means that although Lacour and Harrison did not pull the trigger, their alleged actions in relation to the botched home invasion resulted in the death of the other teen.

Title 5, Chapter 19 of the Texas Penal Code states a person can be charged with murder if the defendant "commits or attempts to commit a felony, other than manslaughter, and in the course of and in furtherance of the commission or attempt, or in immediate flight from the commission or attempt, he commits or attempts to commit an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual."

Good Guy With a Gun Stops Woman Who Allegedly Opened Fire on Customers at Tulsa Shopping Plaza
by Cassandra Fairbanks March 28, 2020 23 Comments
7Share Tweet Email

A “good guy with a gun” fatally shot a woman who had allegedly began to open fire on customers at a shopping plaza in Oklahoma on Friday evening.
The woman had reportedly got into an altercation in the parking lot of the shopping center in Tulsa and returned with a gun a few minutes later.

“A man with a concealed carry permit reportedly told arriving officers that he shot the woman after she started shooting at customers outside the shopping center,” Tulsa World reports. “Video reportedly showed the woman was involved in an earlier altercation in the parking lot. The woman left the shopping center and returned about three minutes later, when she pulled a gun and opened fire, according to the news release.”
Tulsa Police found the woman dead in her vehicle when they arrived.
“I don’t know that there is going to be an arrest made in this particular case at this point. We are still going to go down and we are going to talk to him and figure out what his version is. Once we get the video and we are able to look at that video, I think it’s going to give us a really good idea of what happened here,” Detective Jason White told local station News on 6.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody and questioned by the department’s detective division before being released.

Did the cops give back his gun?

If not, I hope he has another one, as the crazy woman may have even crazier relatives, ALSO with guns.

Police looking for man who violently beat 71-year-old during robbery
A 71-year old man was violently beat as he opened his business for the day in late March. Detectives from the El Paso Police Department ask for help in identifying the violent attacker, through the Crime Stoppers, “Crime of The Week.”

On March 24 at 7:04 a.m., a 71-year old man was opening his business, Sun City Woodworks, at 1816 Myrtle. Florida Inmate Released in Effort to Slow Spread of Coronavirus Arrested on Murder Charge One Day After He Got Out of Jail
By Cristina Laila
Published April 14, 2020 at 8:57pm

A Florida inmate released on March 19 to ‘slow the spread of the Coronavirus’ was arrested on a murder charge just one day after he got out of jail.
State officials are releasing hundreds of inmates into society over Coronavirus fears while they threaten and arrest law-abiding citizens for violating ‘social distancing’ orders.
What could possibly go wrong?
Tampa deputies say 26-year-old Joseph Edwards Williams committed second-degree murder just one day after he was released from jail.
TRENDING: Video of the Day: One Day After Arguing With President Trump, CBS Reporter Paula Reid Has to be Told Four Times to Leave Coronavirus Survivor Meeting
Over 150 inmates were released in Hillsborough County.
WFLA reported:
An inmate who was released from the Hillsborough County Jail in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus is back behind bars and accused of committing second-degree murder the day after he got out of jail, deputies say.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirms 26-year-old Joseph Edwards Williams was arrested on a warrant Monday night in Gibsonton.
They say he is connected to a March 20 shooting homicide in the Progress Village area. Deputies responded at 10:40 that night to several 911 calls about gunshots fired near 81st Street South and Ash Avenue. A man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Online jail records show Williams had been released from custody at 8:02 a.m. on Thursday, March 19 per an administrative order aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the county jails. The sheriff’s office says he was one of more than 100 inmates released from custody until trial.
“There is no question Joseph Williams took advantage of this health emergency to commit crimes while he was out of jail awaiting resolution of a low-level, non-violent offense,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “As a result, I call on the State Attorney to prosecute this defendant to the fullest extent of the law.”
“Judges, prosecutors, and Sheriffs around the country are facing difficult decisions during this health crisis with respect to balancing public health and public safety. Sheriffs in Florida and throughout our country have released non-violent, low-level offenders to protect our deputies and the jail population from an outbreak. Our commitment as an agency is to keep this community safe and enforce the law.”
“Every murder, every violent crime, especially those involving a gun, is a sickening example of the worst in our community, especially at a time when our community is working relentlessly to fight against the spread of this deadly COVID-19.”

Homeowner grabs gun and shoots at intruders allegedly trying to rob him
Surveillance video shows three armed people trying to break into a Florida home before the resident grabbed a gun and shot at them, according to police.

A Ring security camera caught three men breaking into a Neptune Beach home on Tuesday, followed by the sounds of gunshots being fired at them before they ran away.

“No matter who you are, this is a very scary situation,” said News4Jax crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson, a former Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detective.

“This homeowner realizes he has the right to protect himself, and he pulls out his gun, and he begins to fire,” Jefferson said. “He’s well within justification to do that."

Police said one suspect was shot in the chest and taken to a hospital, while the other two are still on the loose. Authorities have leads on tracking down the other suspects based on security footage of them jumping into getaway cars. The homeowner is not facing any charges.

Homeless man set on fire in 'unprovoked' attack
Police have arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of dousing a homeless victim with fuel and setting him on fire in an unprovoked attack caught on video.

Surveillance footage from Santa Ana, California showed the moment when a man was engulfed in flames and left for dead in early April.

He can be seen sitting on a sidewalk near the intersection of First Street and Broadway when a man rides into the frame on a bike, pours an accelerant over the man and sets him alight.

The suspect had covered his face and was dressed in black when he approached the man, who was alone in front of a closed business.

The victim, who tried to get away from the attacker, suffered first-, second- and third-degree burns to his upper body. Physicians at a local trauma/burn centre performed surgery on his wounds and he remained in a critical condition.

The Santa Ana Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday that Adrian Alberto Rodriguez Herrera, a 45-year-old transient, was arrested near the scene of the attack.

Officers who specialise in interacting with the homeless detained Mr Herrera and his bicycle after allegedly matching him with the description of the crime and surveillance footage.

Homicide detectives are seeking witnesses to the arson/attempted murder case.

Mass Shooting In Gun Controlled Canada Leaves 10 Dead, Including Mounted Patrol Officer
By Brock Simmons
Published April 19, 2020 at 6:05pm

A gunman opened fire overnight in several sleepy towns in Nova Scotia, Canada. The rampage started in Portapique, about 50 miles north of Halifax, and ended about 30 miles away in Enfield, before also hitting Truro.
Mind you the gun laws in Canada are very strict, and one has to jump through several hoops just to get a hunting rifle, including passing a rigorous licensing process, and several types of firearms are banned, including many semi automatic variants, and magazines are limited 10 rounds in most cases.
The CBC Reports:
More than 10 people were killed during a gunman’s bloody 12-hour rampage through several Nova Scotia communities, and police warn there may be more victims.
In an update on Sunday evening, Nova Scotia RCMP confirmed there were at least 10 people killed in several locations across the province, including a veteran RCMP officer.

Police said there may be more victims who have not been discovered yet and their investigation continues.
RCMP identified the gunman as Gabriel Wortman, 51. His rampage began late Saturday night in the small community of Portapique, N.S. He led police on a chase Sunday morning along one of the province’s busiest highways.
The chase ended near a gas station about 35 kilometres north of Halifax in Enfield, N.S., around 11:40 a.m. local time. Police confirmed Sunday evening that the gunman was dead.
Const. Heidi Stevenson, a 23-year veteran of the RCMP, has been identified as the police member who was killed responding to the active shooter incident.
Premier Stephen McNeil addressed the investigation Sunday afternoon.
“I never imagined when I went to bed last night that I would wake up to the horrific news that an active shooter was on the loose in Nova Scotia. This is one of the most senseless acts of violence in our province’s history,” McNeil said.
“To the families of the victims, and to those who are still feeling afraid, my heart goes out to you. Know that all Nova Scotians are with you.”
The article goes on to say that several homes had caught fire around the same time as the shootings, but police cannot confirm that is related to the shootings. They also say that Wortman was a denturist who owned several properties in the area, and was somehow able to commandeer a Royal Mounted Police car and drove it during the rampage.

Oddly enough, police are not confirming how Wortman died, nor are they elaborating on the type of firearm used or how he procured it.

Some Canadians call us, here in the USA, "irresponsible cowboys" because we have the Second Amendment so private citizens can own firearms.

A way to halt incidents like THIS is just one reason WHY we own them.

Supremes order U.S. city to explain its confiscation of legal guns
'This is a significant development'

By WND Staff
Published April 26, 2020 at 4:11pm

The U.S. Supreme Court has ordered officials in San Jose, California, to explain why they confiscated the legally owned guns of Lori Rodriguez.

They still have them.
The case was brought by the Second Amendment Foundation on behalf of the woman.
The Supreme Court justices have instructed city officials to respond by May 20.
TRENDING: Houston looking at dismantling $17M temp hospital that didn't see a single patient
"We’re encouraged by this development in the case," said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. "If the city thought they could just ignore this case and make it go away, they’re wrong."
SAF has been joined in the case by the California Gun Rights Foundation.
"Her firearms were seized seven years ago after her husband was taken to a hospital on a mental health issue," the foundation said. "At the time, a San Jose police officer advised Rodriguez he had authority to seize all firearms in the residence, including those belonging solely to her, which were all locked in a California-approved safe. The guns were taken without a warrant, and over Rodriguez's objection."
Gottlieb said the inquiry is "a significant development, because it signals the Supreme Court is interested in the case."
Should the government have the power to confiscate legal guns?

In 2013, police seized all the weapons from Rodriguez' home then refused to return them.
In the lower courts, judges quickly concluded Rodriguez had done nothing wrong and was allowed to buy new weapons. But city law-enforcement officers still kept her old ones.
"Lori Rodriguez is not a criminal, nor is she prohibited by law from owning firearms. Yet she's essentially been robbed by the city of San Jose and its police department, with the cooperation of lower courts, including the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals," Gottlieb said.
"When a municipal government agency can seize property without a warrant, and be protected by the lower courts in so doing, it is time for the U.S. Supreme Court to step in and right this dangerously tilted ship before it capsizes."
Don Kilmer, a civil rights lawyer working on the case, said Rodriguez "has at all times complied with California’s many gun control laws, including those requiring locked storage."
"But the city of San Jose outrageously continues to refuse to return the constitutionally protected property they unlawfully took from her."
He said governments "have no reason and no right to take guns from law-abiding people who are legally eligible to keep and bear arms, full stop."

"The Constitution does not have a 'gun' exception to fundamental Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights, but that is exactly what the Ninth Circuit's dangerous decision means. We hope the Supreme Court will vindicate our clients' rights and restore the rule of law in the Ninth Circuit."

McDonald's shooting: Police footage released
Police said anger over a closed dining area due to COVID-19 at a McDonald's in southwest Oklahoma City led to two employees being shot and another injured.

Police responded Wednesday to the fast food restaurant, located at Southwest 89th Street and South Pennsylvania Avenue, and found three victims. According to officers, one male victim was shot in the shoulder and the second male victim was shot in the arm. Both were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers said the third victim, a woman who is also a Mcdonald's employee, sustained a head injury during the incident.

Police said two suspects are in custody. No names have been released at this time.

150 Firearms Stolen From Albuquerque Gun Store by “Sophisticated” Thieves
The thieves were “sophisticated.”

150 pistols and rifles were stolen from an Albuquerque gun store earlier this week, in what authorities are calling one of the biggest thefts of firearms in the southwestern United States in recent history.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms state that a group of thieves made off with more than 115 handguns and 35 rifles during the heist, which occurred early on Monday morning. Authorities are claiming the thieves, who worked in a group, acted with a “level of sophistication,” cutting the power to JCT Firearms and disabling the building’s security system before getting inside and stealing the guns. The thieves also disabled the gun store’s surveillance system.
Authorities have entered the serial numbers of all the stolen firearms into a national database, but are saying it ranges from possible to likely that the guns will be taken to Mexico. “That’s a tremendous amount of firepower in the hands of criminals,” said Tom Mangas, an ATF spokesman. “This is a priority for us.”
Trending: FBI Spooks Cover for ANTIFA Terrorists, Absolving Them From Their Role in Nationwide Riots
Albuquerque police are saying there’s no indication that the massive theft is linked to the nationwide race riots that have surfaced in the city, but the timing is conspicuous. More than two million Americans have become legal gun owners in the past two months, and the theft appears to indicate that criminals are seeking to arm themselves as well.

RIOTS: Who do you blame for the violence on America's streets?
The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward to information leading to criminal charges in the burglary, a sum that is being matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
In a national moment where racial tensions are boiling, the theft of the firearms by criminals poses a serious danger to the Albuquerque community, and the American public broadly.
