VOYAGER -- Don't know why it can't be OFFICIALLY CLEARLY VERIFIED HERE that there's just no longer direct dialup access to FULLY WORKABLE COPPER WEBMAIL now that Everyone.net has taken over, and that another faster email client MUST BE used as interim (assuming it can even be downloaded via dialup -- my own experience there says NO). (Thunderbird has been repeatedly suggested as a migration fix, but no definite statement that dialup Copper webmail is now simply a no-goer.)

I wanted only webmail access on my Copper-dialup home pc (saves space), but gave up that route: "You Can't Get There From Here. " So I finally mounted old Pegasus which obediently started slow-trotting through past emails, then oddly went berserk: dup/trip/quadruplicated (huh!?) most in haphazard array (maybe like DANVIRs, only no spam, and definitely like MRALSTON's "lot of stress!" ) -- AND the whole !@#$% process would start over each of the endless time-outs -- ARRGH! (I can't even download Thunderbird or others because apparently 52Kbps dialup is too slow [or else stymied by some obscure setting or bug on my desktop?]. I also can't download new browsers, updates or visit some websites without constantly timing out, but that's a dial-up horse of a different color).

So if webmail or migrating emails keep hiccuping, duplicating and running amok, no wonder it's taking forever, if at all, for us remaining irritated users (dialup or not) to access and fully use our webmail.

I know Matt has worked hard to accommodate everyone (and just because his name is Matt doesn't mean I/we should tromp all over him -- SORRY MATT, BUT HAD TO THROW IN A BIT OF LEVITY AMIDST ALL THE AGGRO, I really have appreciated your efforts and politeness), but we die-hard dial-uppers should've been told early on we'd be out of luck -- to save us from beating a dead horse!

I would like to think that the dialup mail access and function issue is still being worked on (from post #83):

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry for being away. We're working with the new email provider to get an update on why the old messages aren't flowing in as expected. I do expect to get them coming in soon, but I'm not expecting much action until Monday morning. As soon as I can get an update, I'll post a here.

I know I've been apologizing a lot and apologies don't fix anything but I am truly sorry you are all having to deal with this. I won't stop working on this until we have all of the issues resolved.

I don't think anyone has since the start of this. Whether we make a call or send an email to support, I think they could at least email back or have a recording saying something like, post your issues to the forum, or we are busy working on the issues...something..., but also, there has not been an update here in 4 days.

I remember about 15+ years ago spending a lot of time asking copper support team to please respond on the forums.

I use to be able to tell which tech I was talking to by the sound of their voice.

a few of them did respond and they where a big help to a number of people.

but it did not last long at all.

it's sad to see this happening.

Hi I have called, and sent messages to copper.net etc. And, have had no replies. I didn't get all the "individual folders" I had in the FOLDERS CATAGORY...HEY ARE ALL GONE. What happened to them? I had some things there that I really was "keeping and were important". Would you be kind enough to reply and let me know what has happened and if you are going to get them for me. Thank you. keepthefaithone@copper.netSad

WHEN WILL COPPER.NET START ANSWERING THEIR PHONE HELP LINE AGAIN? (IF EVER).

ATLEAST CALL BACK THOSE WHO ARE HAVING TROUBLE?

I CHECKED MY PAYMENT STATUS AND I AM PAID UP TILL MAY. (1ST OR 31ST I DON'T KNOW)

I CAN'T PAY YOU IF YOU DON'T CALL BACK.

I WILL HAVE TO BUY A PHONE AND HOOK IT BACK UP TO MY LAND LINE
JUST INCASE YOU NEED THAT FOR VARIFICATION.

WE HAVE DONE THIS WITH MY CELL PHONE IN THE PAST, AND YOU DO HAVE THAT NUMBER.

I AM JUST TRYING TO UPDATE MY PASS WORD.
I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN I GET A NEW PHONE HOOKED UP AND WORKING LAND LINE.

BY THE WAY. I HAVE NOT USED COPPER EMAIL FOR A FEW YEARS.

They should be responding right here. It works the best, IF they do it.

Hello Everyone;
I haven't heard back from messages I left with support yet either.

I was starting to get some of my folders back yesterday but today I just get
a spinning gear and don't seem to be able to get in??

Yesterday I had a lot of my old folders & could receive & send emails.

Today NOTHING just the gear & it keeps kicking me off??

Was still looking for group address folders (mailing List)? ANY idea on when those will be back?
& what to do about this spinning gear? Hard to get rid of trash etc if I can't stay on.

Yesterday I did notice that the NEW emails (after Mar 6 collapse) were AFTER all the old emails
coming back (out of sequence & date order). If that helps anyone.

I have received NO notice or instructions etc from Support or anyone & had lots of
SPAM copper.net notices of click here to get emails or they would be erased?? I assumed
these were NOT valid but I don't KNOW because we have heard nothing from copper.net on what
to do or what is happening except on this forum which you had to find on your own.

Seems like we got an excessive amount of "fishing" emails during this time period. Which went to trash.
Thanks for listening.

Anyone now getting returned emails? I've been having them from one address that is Comcast.net. Seems our new email provider is listed on one or more of the threat lists for spam. In my case it's the Vade Threat List. This really should have been checked into before hand.
There are still glitches in the system. But if I connect on a fast Wi-Fi hot spot it seems it all works well. Not so good for regular dialup. And that's what I have.

Almost 2 weeks since a post from Administrator Matt. Why did he stop posting? Even if he is still working on our issues, he should be telling us that with any updates, and not silent for 2 weeks. Is he still doing anything? He should also still be reading our posts. If so, I here give him notice of 3 more days, which will be the 2 weeks. If we do not here from him, or someone else, by then, we should consider ourselves as abandoned.

Exactly -- if beleaguered Matt's gone, WHO'S driving this bus?!

And will those of us Copper.net subscribers who can't directly or fully access our Copper webmail (via dialup) get any refund or credit ... or even a better explanation??

If not ... all together now, in our best James Cagney voice: YOU DIRTY COPPER!! Glare

Thunderbird is still not working after 24 days. The Thunderbird status is the same as reported in post #68 on March 11th.

I can get webmail online via everyone.net, and old emails from before the migration not previously cleared off the server have re-appeared on the web listing.

The server still rejects the username/password combinations as invalid if sent by Thunderbird, but the very same original credentials work manually online with the new webmail sign-in.

I have now set up forwarding on both of my copper.net accounts to send any incoming mail to a single working RoadRunner server account at Time-Warner/Charter/Spectrum.

Some incoming emails are being returned to sender, as Spectrum occasionally rejects the copper.net forwards.

But this was occasionally happening to some outgoing emails sent by me to another Spectrum user via copper.net before the migration occurred. Whitelisting my email addresses with that account did not 100% help. A previous email to tech support about this went unanswered.

Sorry for going MIA for so long everyone. We are still here. Please let me know if you're still not getting responses from support. They were extremely overwhelmed for a while, but should be getting caught up now.
