Some times it would be so good to let go Then you remember someone or something left unattended or undone
Routine once again tightens your manacle the usual sounds call you back to the now
Open or close the windows turn on or off the lights
laundry done, dogs fed freshen up the bathroom
Just outside the window, a miracle ten marble size guail flowing behind dad
Mama comes up from the back and the bird feeder gets busy
plenty of time later to let go

How do you give up loving
there is no common ground no place for both of us
I see you failing with that kite love jumps and smiles
the grass was green the sky was blue you were poor and I was too
We played, we did our chores talked ourselves to laughter
worked for what we got looked for every angle
we were ten and nine you looked stupid with that kite
Can't help but love you

The wind has a fierce voice howling like the wolf
the breese calls on rusty hinges to a lover, a gust that is gone again
slapping down no with with loose sheet metal and still she calls
oil the hinge lock down the metal
the loon calls as do the gulls the moon shines on it all
and love goes on

Some times there is hope without the shine of sun or moon
in the dark you are the light in the still you are the voice
fear not the unknown remember the God you know
Those around you see your light those around you hear your voice

I love the way you touch me and fear when you draw away
Hands of leather, hands of velvet
touch of your voice sting of your lips each and every crying
I must ask why?
Young of mind , old of body Standing like a rebuttment
Ever forward do I walk, with heavy footsteps

Time in a lawn chair moments of shade and sun
bedeviled by imagination thankful for the gift
Quiet time of memories people and prayers slipping in and out
today tugging as it passes tomorrow waiting yesterday, good riddance
I see you and your mother swaying as you walk the sidewalk
gossip and giggles pass you unseen just a memory

Ran in the wind leaped with a smile into the face
Like heros from the past they greet their kin
Grandsons so small but filled with the life of family
not ready, but eager to begin not allowed to go and held in the traces
And when they go I also will be gone

Sometimes sometimes is not enough sometimes is too much and sometimes
It is just perfect
Perfection is on hold too much is there not enough is available but sometimes
the grand kids come and kick the dust off

for fishnet, a gift.
there's a wind that blows beneath there are waters that never sleep there's a piece of God that you keep there's a dream in sub/conscience space there's a place where a wild goose flies there's a light she can't conceal i feel it now, she's a poet's song in the wind i need a friend i need a friend there's a bend in the road ahead my tears are shed my tears are shed there's a bread i long to eat but the streets are dark, the streets are dark there's a lark that needs to sing bring me wine bring me wine i'm feelin' fine i'm fellin' fine i'm a swimming fish beneath a sky it's drainin' blue it's drainin' blue it's all over you there's a rain i want to feel and my heels are loose my heels ain't no more there's white waters a rollin' ashore i want some more i want some more there's a door i'm looking for oh hear that ocean roar, o hear that ocean roar.

It might be that time or just the cold
loose rolling hip of a walk gone with the weather?
Elasticity of youth recognized the moment of vanish
Had to laugh had my turn
flexibility is not everything the wheel still turns and the hamster is not dead
Imagination is still running amok projects are stacking up
summer is coming

warm weather brings hope magic in the middle of the winter
sunshine and a lawn chair happy dogs and a cold beer
birds at the feeder antelope squirrels in the wood pile
ginger for inflammation honey and cinnamon for colds
Thank You Lord

Sometimes it gets to be too much deliberately foaming at the mouth
ignorance and hate hand in hand
where are the words of kindness where is the generous heart
believe what you believe cursing my belief is your undoing
No temperance, no thought, just violence Anger is my proof
God save you

in another life, strife was not my friend but being there made it so, toe-to-toe. the tear stripped me bare but the scar brought new clothers to wear.
God saved me.
