Look carefully...at the seemingly small moments...in the constant shaping of souls.- Neal A.Maxwell

my punny guy
21-year old is turning gray.  When his peers will comment on his hair and then add, "At least you can dye it," he responds, "Are you saying I look old and need to lose weight?"
Worth every penny
We had very thorny marionberry plants growing in 3 plantar boxes.  The thorns weren't worth the fruit so we cut them down and bagged the dirt to take to the dump (in order to start fresh with new dirt and new type of plants).  Our trash can is full and trash day is not for two days so I added a bag of household trash to my load.  My neighbor added a broken, rusted Razor scooter.  At the dump I learned that my dirt was free to dump if I emptied the bags onto their soil pile.  I told her I also had one bag of trash and a scooter.  She said I could go ahead and dump those without cost.
When I relayed this to my neighbor she laughed and laughed and then said, "I don't know why I find that so funny, 'a bag of trash and a scooter'."  She laughed and laughed some more, then she said, "Excuse me sir, I have some pencil savings and a Cheerio to dump."

Dinner
I sat down to write a quick blog about something that happened at dinner last night.  The best way to explain would be to have a picture of our table.  Rather than take a new picture I started looking through photos on my computer.  I went all the way back to 2006.  So much for a quick blog :)  I did have a enjoy my journey down memory lane though.

So... last night at dinner I asked my husband to pull a leaf out on the table so we would have room for a casserole dish.  Part way through dinner my husband said, "I don't know if you all are just not observant or if I should be offended - I did shower today."  [Here is where a picture of the table would be helpful.  It is 32"x42",  32"x54" with one leaf out, 32"x66" with both leaves out.  Our eating area is small so we usually keep both leaves in. 5'4"-12-year old and 5'8"-I sit at one 32" side, 6'2"-husband sits at the other.  6'3"-21-year old and 6'1"-17-year old each sit at a 42" side.]  When my husband pulled out the leaf he left the place-settings for the rest of us in their usual spots, giving him the full extra 12".  When 17-year old realized what my husband was referring to he stood up, scooted my husband's place-setting to the edge of the table and added his own place-setting next to it.  He then moved his chair to the 32" side and sat down.  21-year old shrugged his shoulders and scooted his place-setting and chair until he was touching my husband's place-setting at the corner.  I shrugged and moved my setting and chair to touch 17-year old's at his corner.  12-year old scooted his place-setting to the center of his usually shared 32" side, and, giving a big, exaggerated sigh of satisfaction, stretched his arms out to full capacity.
