Almost 18-year old C spent the summer sanding, painting, hauling metal and any other odd job his building-owner boss asked of him. The final week he spent helping roof two rentals in 100-degree heat.
Today C and I went school shopping. More than once he asked himself aloud, "Is this worth an hour on a roof?" to determine if an item was worth the asking price. I was telling my husband this when we got home. C overheard and said, "Yeah, I would think, 'If I were tossed this item after working on the roof would I feel adequately compensated?' If not, I wouldn't buy it."
A life lesson, in my opinion, definitely worth time on a roof.
