Short Blog Description Goes Here

Electric drive hobbies & repairs.
Are there others interested in ebikes & mobility scooters? I have both, ride electric bike, rebuilding a Hurricane 4 wheeler for winter use.

My interests are technical & specific needs, not brands or designer awards. Definitely not for repeating news 'facts', as most are mis/dis-information.

Hoping "open to all" does not lead to "i hate ebikes & cripples". Note the small i. Start your own topic & be the big I...it should be popular.

This is also for the handicapped looking for mobilty advice. Perhaps I can help on expectations, or... ?

I'm a hobby, no commercial interests, just mobility.

I am always looking for a golf cart, does that fall into your interests? I figure one day I won't be able to drive anymore and I can't take a bus so what do people do? Get a golf cart. They have them at the auction every once in a while but they aren't running and I wonder "how would I get it home?" Will they fit in the back of a truck. I have also considered a 3 wheeler but you don't see them often up for sale. Well that's about as far as I have gotten. I actually see the elders riding one of those battery operated chairs to the store, I have also heard of them getting killed on them. Welcome to Copper blog!:O)

You might want to post this in the forum.. Unfortunately, it seems there are not a lot of viewers in the blog area.

Cats, I thought I should be in a/the forum. Figured out the difference of blog & forum after posting. Greenhorn. Thanks, Cats.

Maturity, Electric platforms are the answer to certian handicaps. Ebikes get you near the door, disability carts get you in the store. Golf carts have more restrictive laws.

You need to check your local laws at ALL 3 levels, national, state/province & city for golf carts on the road.

Yep a GC fits into a full size pickup. I never operated one, lots of difference in components related to age, just like mobility scooters.

There are several 3 wheeled types, mobility, bicycle & road ebike. All are a tip-over hazard. Med side effects should be considered.

Mobility scooter choice should always be 4 wheeled. For indoors only, buy the powered wheel chair, carts are used outside unless you live in a warehouse.

Buying at auction, buyer beware. Preview the carts before the auction. You need to learn a few basics & using a volt meter. To many variables to instruct here. The free ad sites are much better.

Number 1 rule on buying used...you will need new batteries. There are exceptions, I have never seen an exception in 10 ebikes & 4 scooters. I only buy broken, for parts or rebuild.

Thanks for your interest.

I think start over in forums ??? Can anyone help/advice here?

My main interest is mobility scooters as I don't find help websites.
thank you

Lots of great information most of which I wouldn't have thought to question. Thanks!
Probably should put it in the :general: forum. The caption is important as that will be the deciding factor on drawing interest. Lots of guy guys on the forum that will have input I am sure. If you live in Phoenix I would be glad to give you the Auction site as they sale mostly parts or parted out scooters, GC's etc. Easy to post in the forum, click on "general" and you have a choice of new topic or reply, etc.
Good luck!
Phoenix auction.

Cats, GC's are legal on the streets there? Must be a respectable auction house for vendors to run parts as it would not pay otherwise. Let me know the website of previews.
I'll switch to forum, did not know a blog was different.

I see how to post a new topic.

Sorry I just saw your post. I don't know for sure if they are legal on the streets for sure. My neighbor drives his to the store but he might stay off the main streets. I think as far as the auction an individual may be like you gets rid of his parts or one with missing parts through the auction. I don't think it is a business but not positive. I have bought much other stuff and only figured out after a short that it was someone just like me cleaning out their garage, lol. Most have something wrong with them. The blogs don't appear to get much readers but the forum does.
Here is a link, sorry I don't know how to make an active link in a blog. http://www.auctionandappraise.com/home.html
I will be watching for your post in the forum:)
Ending this topic soon.

Cats, OK, its a low end auction if all they attract is broken goods, save your money & shop private. I was a vendor on the local/international auction circuit many years ago, Ontario, NY, PA & OH. I was at a DEA auction in Buffalo NY, forget the outfit, upscale, 6 auctioners. The 'kid' (still in training) hits 'the frenzy' were buyers bid way over the retail cost. This is a textbook drama seldom seen. The seniors had a hard time discouraging the pup's action, had to shutdown for a cool off. This was under camera, 2 secret service agents (M&F) film the goods & bidders, squeaky clean. So the guy follows me outside on this break & asks 'what went on in there'. I explained that the frenzy is never seen in our times, its historical. I would not have recognized it had I not read extensively on the auction business. I also pointed out the senior shut junior down, probably his most embarrasing incident. The kid had the biggest grin, he knew what he hit. Nope I did not find resale prices that evening.
How do I get to post in the forum? Must be a signup page...maybe my browser is brocken?

They do say they are government, schools, etc and I do know much of their merchandise is from those entities but a lot is from the individual. I like 'stuff' unfortunately, lol but I do like getting good stuff if I pay a lot of money for it also. Did you go to the site? If you give them your email address they will send you alerts on their upcoming auctions which allow you to view what they have up for sale 7 days before the bidding starts. My last purchases cost 250. and then I realized someone booted me off their mailing list. At first I was offended but then I realized they did me a favor, hahahaha. I miss it and will sign up again when my finances get caught up(maybe) and I sell some this stuff. I have no control when it comes to surprise lots, oh JOY!:)

Go to the forum page and at the top right corner there is a place that says log in. If you go from your blog to the forum you should already be logged in, click on 'general' and start a topic. If you are logged in you should show logged in at the same place it shows the log in area at the top right.

I remembered I did buy an old relic 3 wheeler, probably the first model of the battery operated electric chair. It is 6 volt. I never did do anything with it as the battery hookups were unusual and I was afraid I wouldn't remember how to put it back together, lol. The battery needs a charge and probably water and so it sits. I will try and get a pic of it and post it so you can see it. My neighbor was going to build a small cart with a lawnmower to drive to the store but he never did and has since moved away. Am I getting off topic? lol

No problem getting to 'general' topic, no way to 'start' one. No button. Can you post a screen shot of what I'm supposed to see after opening 'general'? Is there an administrator, so I can find if I have browser/computer issues.
3 wheeler.

The old scooters having chain drive are the gold. Newer types have a motor on the transaxle & these have small brushes that wear quickly. Gasoline engines is off topic, electric & legal is the topic. There is web posts of a guy in England doing 70mph on a mobility scooter, gas. He is 72 years young. Hold off posting here as I'll start in the forums once I figure out how.

I will post the screen pics in the general for you. There is no way I can post them here unless I start a new blog. I will post them now.

Go into options and spam shield settings and you can set sensitivity to spam. Mine is set to 2.5 and I hardly ever get any spam. Options can be found on the left hand list once you sign into email.
As far as image you will find it once you go in and start to set up a new topic it will be above the text area with all the other settings. Good luck! No problem with the help. Don't know what you mean by "needs a mods help". Feel free to ask if you need anymore help.

"I remembered I did buy an old relic 3 wheeler, probably the first model of the battery operated electric chair. It is 6 volt" Sorry, of course it is not electric:) Unless you count the fact that I have to charge it via an electric charger, lol.
